February 9th Meeting & Cruise Winter months in the mountains of North Georgia seldom give us the sunny skies and warm weather that we had for this lunch and cruise. Everyone enjoyed seeing the Corvettes in the parking lot and the level of excitment heightened when Steve & Kristy Young drove their highly modified 2006 Z06 into the parking lot. Their car has that awesome, throaty sound that draws attention and identifies 'power under the hood'. Steve identified some of the extensive modifications completed by MTI racing resulting in the thrill of having 565 hp at the rear wheels. The Jones'  Z06 also has a special wheel setup that really adds to the appeal of the care.       Steve & Kristy Young - 2006 Z06 ****************************** We were very pleased to have new club members Mike & Angela Allen attend today's meeting and cruise. Mike and Angela drove 3-1/2 hours from Milledgeville, GA to attend lunch and participate in the cruise. They have a beautiful 2007 Coupe and they really enjoy putting their Corvette on the road.    Mike & Angela Allen - 2007 Coupe ****************************** Cookie Jar Restauant             ****************************** Highlands, NC The cruise participants assembled in the parking lot around 12:30 PM as Gene & Donna Clopton led eight Corvettes on the cruise from Blairsville, GA to Highlands, NC. After arriving in Highlands and parking the Corvettes everyone started looking for, and quickly found, the ice cream parlor. Some of the members mixed in some shopping in addition to having an ice cream cone or float. We spent about an hour in Highlands before Jeremy Clough and guest Kasey Murphy lead the Corvettes through the curves and winding roads of Old Hwy 64 to Franklin, NC.
