The morning started with a clear sky and warm temperatures as the Corvettes assembled in the parking lot of Steve's Steak House (Blairsville) to begin the caravan to John Megel Chevrolet in Dawsonville. We were joined by new member Phil Young (Cashiers, NC) driving his beautiful 2008 silver Coupe and, as always, we love to see Paul & Jossie Havens drive up with their beautiful 1964 white Coupe. Also attending were Mike & Angela Allen in their 2007 white Coupe - they drove up from Milledgeville, GA Friday evening, spent the night locally, and joined the caravan. J.R. & Barbara Murphy were sporting their recently purchased 2005 red Coupe and faithful member John Wentz drove over from Calhoun, GA in his 1998 white Coupe. Members included in the caravan also included Oscar & Jennifer Thomas, Mike & Jennie Priven, Bill Sutton, Terry & Barbara Williams, and Gene & Donna. Clopton.

The caravan of Corvettes arrived at John Megel Chevrolet (JMC) on GA 400 in Dawsonville at approximately 10:15 AM and found several other CGBRM members there ready for the technical clinic. Also In attendance were Fred Hintze in his 2004 blue Coupe and new member Gary Walker in his 2007 red Coupe. We also had the pleasure of meeting other Corvette owners as we introduced ourselves and enjoyed the food and drinks provided by our host. Mike Simpson, parts manager and CGBRM member, began the program by introduing the management of JMC and Peter Stapleton of GM. Following the introductions we moved to the service bay area where Corvette technician Steve Alcott discussed maintenance and provided valuable maintenance tips. Everyone enjoyed the view of the C6 Corvette on the rack and after the tech session to we returned to the entrance area for the drawing of door prizes. As usual, JMC provided some excellent door prizes, food, and Corvette expertise. Information on the 4th Annual 'TOP OF GEORGIA' All Corvette Show was made available to all of the Corvette owners and several committed to attend the show and become a member of the CGBRM. Again, we take this opportunity to recognize John Megel Chevrolet as Steve Rotenstein announced that they will continue their sponsorhip for the June 21st show and they will have Corvettes at the show. A SPONSORS page is now available on this website to recognize businesses, agencies, and individuals that make outstanding annual contributions to CGBRM.

Mike & Jennie Priven lead the caravan to The Varsity on Cheshire Bridge Road for 'a naked dog' or a 'glorified steak' before we began our trip back over the mountain to North Georgia.
