Dec. 8th                 Lunch & Cruise: I've received several Email messages suggesting that we involve the CGBRM with Christmas gift-giving to children instead of the traditional ornament exchange. With lots of help from Jeremy Clough and Donna Clopton, we have been in contact with the Towns County Chamber of Commerce to find an appropriate agency to provide some Christmas toys to needy children. The project we chose is the 'Empty Stocking Sheriff's Fund' in Towns County. The sheriff's office currently has about 75 kids enrolled in their program and that number is expected to reach as high as 150 kids. We can -- and should -- use some of our collective resources to help some of these needy children.

With that in mind - here is the plan.

* Each Corvette owner is being asked to bring an unwrapped toy (more than one if possible) to the Saturday lunch and cruise. Ask your friends or businesses to provide some toys for you to bring.

* The larger number of toys the better - expensive toys aren't required.

* The toys should be a mixture of girls and boys items and not too large.

* We will leave the Cookie Jar Restaurant in time to arrive at the Towns County Sheriff's Office at 1:45 PM.

* We will meet with a representative from the Towns County Sheriff's office to present the gifts.

* Representatives from the Towns Sentinel and Herald newspapers will take pictures to issue a press release.

*In addition, a representative from the Towns Chamber of Commerce may participate in the exchange on Saturday.

* A cruise will follow the gift presentation.

Please search your hearts and find a way to load your Corvette trunk with inexpensive toys so that we can help as many of the children as possible.
